how could i get my card 2 connect with my router? im not familiar with 2000, as i have XP on my other laptop, do i have 2 put the router CD in? any help would be great, thanks.

all you really need to do is configure your wireless settings to connect to router. you will have to enter a wep key if you enabled security on your router. your wireless card should see the router, its just a matter of being able to connect to it.

the wireless card came with the laptop, with no CD, i just got th laptop a coupl of hrs. ago, the drivers are already installed.

If there are drivers with it, then you should have the Windows WIreless config working. Go to network connections, and see what you have.

the wireless card that came with it has a built in rj-45 adaptr lol, a little wierd, on th bottom of the card it says copyright 1998, i tryed 2 look 4 drivers, but came acrossed none, probrably wayy 2 old.

I didn't know that they had wireless networks (commercially available) in 1998...are you sure that that card isn't just a modem?

nope, it's a wireless card. i just tryed 2 install another card, a Linksys, i downloaded the drivers, and got the card 2 power on, but it still doesnt get a signal? i dont get it, i hate trying 2 get laptops 2 go wireless, when they dont have XP, it's a pain in the a#$.

the routers in my living room, and the laptops in my bedroom, the signal has 2 go through a wall, should i move the laptop like right near the router.

Belkin V6000 (i think), G router, B&G compatible with wireless cards, and iunno the specs on the card, it's a older card, it's a 3Com, model number is 3CXFE575BT.
