Win8 Pro upgrade not going well

Hey guys,

So I started the upgrade and it worked fine until it had to restart. It shuts down fine but never started again... When I press the power the button, the computer starts and two seconds later it stops, the screen is not even on yet... This is a laptop by the way.

Ok I pushed the button again and this time it worked... It has done the exact same pattern already once... Do I have to wait a certain amount of time before starting up WIndows during the upgrade? Is this normal?

Update:

SO I started it and it worked fine until 10mins later, it shut down randomly like it had no power... It won't start once again...

That's what I think it is... Just wasted 50€ on a Win8 upgrade for a computer that just died... Yes I had entered the key...

You can use it again. You didn't activate it yet.

I think it did, I went all the way to Win8 screen, started downloading Chrome and Avast...

Eh, you can still reactivate it since that computer died. Shouldn't be an issue.

Aren't upgrades OEM?

I've used my OME key for windows 7 on 4 different harddrives across two different computers. Didn't deactivate or whatever.
