win update

hi i have been trying to get my windows update but the page is either could not be desplayed or there is an error when i go to custom install also i have noticed that certain other websites wont work like download.com i havent changed anything in my browser i have no virus i dont know what to do please help
 
cable internet explorer says page cannot be desplayed and my other browser avant goes there then when i hit custom search says error
 
Have you tried restarting your computer? Also, is there a router or anything like that with cable? If there is, try reseting it, or pulling the power cable.
 
please post the error, there is a number on the page somewhere usually something like 0x080000

also make sure your date and time are correct
