Will this device work with my sata notebook hardrive?

We have 2.5 sata notebook hardrives in our Ruggid dells, I need hardware to duplicate my sata hardrives, are notebook sata drives and desktop sata drives identical (meaning same size connectors)?

Nope, notebook SATA drives use a bit smaller connector, and the power and data connector is combined into one. Also, what exactly is it that you're looking at buying? The link you have is just a search result for 2.5" SATA drives.

o sorry, I dont know whats up with the link.

I need a machine that duplicates laptop sata hardrives , it can be done via usb or by taking the hardrives out and putting them in a machine.

What? I use my desktop to transfer data from laptop hard drives all the time using the power and sata connectors from my desktop.

Yeah, you're definitely right. So some reason I was thinking of the slimline SATA connectors you see in some notebook optical drives. I'm totally off today.
