Would anyone know why my vaio laptop shut down when i try to connect to the wireless modem??

your whole computer crashes? i would imagine there is major problem with your WNIC, try updating the drivers on that thing.

Make sure you don't have a virus or malware. If you don't have an anti-viurs program, try AVG Free 9. Also make sure to run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Both of these can be downloaded at http://download.cnet.com
