Why was my internet really slow and once I changed my password it's fast?

Hi

My internet was really slow so i went into the router page and changed the WEP key and network name. How did that make my internet speed up ? I was loading a google search in like 30 seconds but now it's done in 1. And my router set up page was taking 1 minute +..

Was some loser on my network? How do I check a log file? I have a WRT54G.

ok what u need to do is go into ur router and and go the administration tab then go to log and enable it and then it will log al ur ingoing an outgoing if its already enabled u can check and see what was going on
