God that hit the nail on the head.

I had a customer buy a PCI wireless card one time. He thought you were supposed to take the back bracket off (I don't know why) and he put the card in the PCI slot backwards (so the antenna was INSIDE the PC), turned it on, and got mad at us for frying his motherboard.

This may sound dumb, but what was the intel card?

A Pentium II. Many motherboards at the time when it was released used cards like this for processors instead of socketed ones.

Intel had Slot 1 and 2. AMD had Slot A.
