hello. i have the asus maximux v gene motherboard, which comes with the supreme fx III chip on it, and the sound blaster x-fi MB 2 codec/software. i also have a creative x-fi titanium sound card. i believe its the older model, but is still pci-e x1. im wondering which should i use for my sound. it will be hooked up to a home audio reciever through an optical cable. any opinions would be great. thanks

coming out of the creative soundcard to go into your receiver via optical out would probably be the better option. its always better to have it coming out of an 2nd processing unit, in this case a sound card.
and just a suggestion, if youre looking to upgrade.
ive found this card to be better.. ASUS DX

it has its optical out so you can go into the reciever no problem.
its a nice card, and would be a nice upgrade if you want high quality sound!

i already have the creative titanium card, as i stated that in the original post. the card i have already had an optical out to go directly to the reciever, so i dont unerstand what you mean by telling me that the asus has it too. thanks for the advise, but im good on getting a new card, since the one i have right now is pretty descent. im just using the x-fi titanium instead of the onboard supreme fx 3
