Which Route to Take?

I currently have a bachelor's in Management Information systems and work full time as an Application developer... Although it's alright, it is not what i really enjoy.. I work with Java, SQL, XML/XSL, and some other languages, but i really enjoy the hardware aspect of computers, building them and setting them up.. I am trying to decide whether a certification will help me at all.. Maybe an 'A+' , MCSE or MCSA certification or even a SUN certification.. I Just thought i would get some opinions on to what pays well and falls more into the technical side of computers rather than just programming and development (100% of the time).. Suggestions are open to other certs and specialties as well.. Thanks!

I say this to any one that asks me this question ADDITIONAL EDUCATION CAN NOT HURT YOU ANY IT CAN ONLY HELP. I am kinda like you except I am going to college for computer repair I love the aspect of setting up systems and fixing systems.

Hope this helps you some

Everything is about experience in this field. A certification on paper means nothing without any hands-on experience to go along with it. This is an evident fact, especially in the society right now. I completely agree with you about how it can't hurt. On a side note, Programming is 'ok' it is definitely not what i was meant to do on an every day aspect. I am looking for a Cert that can allow me the ability to work in other areas. Also, I guess a MCSE/MCSA also is about what your abilities are with your company. As i have been doing research, a MCSE seems to pay more, in respect to being a harder Cert to achieve. It also seems more down the path of what i am looking for.. Anyone out there with a MCSE Cert that can give me some detail into what their daily activities are like?

Not fully true, my friend was taking classes he was told would work toward his major then when he finished them he was told they wouldn't count. So he paid money for like an entire semester of classes. Sure he learned something in a random class, but if its not going on a resume then its pointless.

Might any of you gentlemen be able to guide to where I may find a solution to an issue i am having with my compaq notebook? I have to reset my date and time constantly everytime i restart my notebook. All this come from having to reinstall my xp operating system due to a crash. It did not do it before.
