Which program to use for recovering files

I lost my files after I formatted my PC. Now, I want to recover some files. Could someone suggest me free program for recovering files? I tried i care data recovery and zero recovery but I am not satisfied with the results.

Recovering the files depends on HOW you formatted your HDD.If you have formatted it with let's say Kill Disk then there is NO WAY you will get ANY data back.
So...HOW did you format the HDD?
