Hello, i am a junior ml engineer. i work for a company and we mostly use cloud services to train our deep neural networks. but i dont have resources to train my own model outside of my job. i wonder are cloud services is the only good choice because of renting, or building a pc with similar specs (2 or 4 rtx 4080-90s would work fine for my own dnns) is better? i never had a pc, i mostly used laptop since i was a kid, i dont know if it is a good choice or not. also sorry fr bad english, it isnt my main language

I'd just do a cost analysis of your performance target, cloud resources are easy to spin up but you definitely pay for the privilege.

thats the hard part. i dont know how much it would cost my to run parallel gpus for a week or two nonstop. i know it depends on the gpu and the count of parallel runs, the second hard part is because it is my apartment i have no guarantee of electricity will not have sudden drops or etc. cloud seems more safe for that particular reason. anyways, thanks for your help. appriciated
