Whats going on with my sound card!

installed the latest drivers for my Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 soundcard...i can hear everything,music,movies...stuff on youtube BUT not any gun sounds in COD:MW2.

i can hear everything else in the game,explosions....walking...but no gun sounds?

whats goin on?

I even uninstalled the latest drivers and installed the older version and still the same problem

any help appreciated.

I was going to say that you didn't have sound effects turned up under options, but if everything else is working, I'd say maybe some of your files could be corrupted in Modern Warfare 2?

actualy yeah it could be corrupted files in MW2....well im planning to re-install 7 anyway so il have to re-install everything.

No....i seem to fix one thing,and then another problem rears its ugly head!

I've never encountered problems with my card. i have the PCI-E version though, what one do you have?

Crysis actually had sound stuttering, and it was worse using onboard realtek sound. It has soething to do with the FMOD sound system or whatever that both crysis games use, and it is broken.

Still, if i ever get MW2 i'll let you know how it goes :good:
