so i just recovered my acer and everything works fine except the wireless internet which worked perfect before. I get full signal and then i click connect and it just says aquiring network address. It then says there is limited or no connectivity. The wired works fine and im just trying to figure this out someone help.

well i have a wep key and i enter it and then it will just keep saying aquiring network or if i enter the wrong one it will just have the screen pop up again asking for the wep key. I'm really lost.

I'm sure it's a pain, but just try resetting the key and ensure you're using the correct hex bit rate (64, 128, etc). If you don't broadcast your SSID just make sure it's the same on both the Tx/Rx sides.

You running windows?

What kind of modem/router do you have? You can reset it, and set everything back up. Did your ISP provide the hardware?

It sounds like it's isn't giving you and address from the router (or wireless capable modem). What you can try is assign your wireless card an ip address in it's TCP/IP settings. You will have to go check your router for this. In most cases it would be 192.168.1.###

It consists of usually 50 that you can add in. So it could be something such as 101, 102, to 149 for the last 3 digits. Then, if you want you can go ahead and setup the DNS also so that it matches with your router/wireless capable modem.
