Whats a good sound card

Well are you going to be using a 2.1, 5.1, or 7.1 sound system? Also, if you aren't looking for super amazing sound quality, you can just use the onboard sound on your mobo. That way you can save some cash for other things.
 
I'm not looking for SUPER AMAZING but I would like it to be decent I'm not really sure what I'm gonna be using cause I am gonna be getting some new speakers soon, So I would like it to be able to support most all
 
In my humble opinion, the words cool and affordable can't be used to describe the same product. Like evanscnce said, if you're looking to spend much under $50, I wouldn't bother. But something around that price range, take a look at this one. If you want to go to the ultimate extreme, look for anything from Creative's X-Fi range (Xtreme Music and upwards).
 
Magicman just about hit it. But like I said try out just your normal onboard sound first, I have used it for years and it works fine.
