Linksys , WRT54G (54Mbps) $50
+ 2x Linksys WMP54G Wireless-G PCI Adapter $40 each = $80
Total= $130
Linksys, WRT54GS $65
+ 2x Linksys WMP54GS Wireless-G PCI Adapter with SpeedBooster $67 each = $134
Total = $200
(what would be the big difference between WRT54G and GS model?)
or d-link gaming router (108Mbps) $135
+ 2x D-Link DWL-G520 High-Speed 2.4GHz (802.11g) Wireless PCI Adapter $55 each = $110
Total = $245

i am thinking of cheap Linksys WRT54G with 2 wireless adpters, and save like $115, any suggestions?

is a good chioce. The GS model has speedboost, but you need SpeedBoost pci cards for it to work. (extra $$)

what do you mean by speedboost? is that mean the router will work much better?
well i think those cards are $27 extra, if its worth getting for its performance...
i am not sure what exactly is speedboost,

I don't know much about the specific models, but I'd definetly go with Linksys for the brand. I've had some problems with Dlink's in the past, but mostly just their NIC's. I have an older Access Point from Dlink that has served me very well...

D-Link DI-624 + 2 High Speed 2.4GHz wireless cards

LOVE IT

(XboxLive + PC Gaming)

Works fine

do not but gaming router.

DI-645 = like 90.00

Why do I care?
I'm just stating that the router has worked well for me. Do you really think I care what it looks like? It's in the back room of my house...

well, i have the wireless router d-link, that looks exactly the same as that one,
and its shitty, and thats why i am getting a new one,, and i am trying to avoid that same series
thats my point, i am upgrading from an older one.
and i would like to try some other types,
good thing it works well for you, cuz mine over heated many times, and i had to wait untill it cools down.

Charles, he suggested the DI-624 which is a different series from yours. Your model is a DI-514 and its the worst wireless router you can buy from D-Link.... my router is a DI-524 and I've never had any problems with it. The DI-624 is perfect for your needs also having the capability of transfering at a rate of 108 mbps.
