I was 14 when i was fed up with my HP Slimline desktop... then it totally kicked the bucket :P If you guys can remember my old POS "modded" case with blue cathodes and a "circle" modded into the side panel :D Don't have the pics any more :o

Still, i consider the computer i have now to be my first real computer. :)

What about you guys? (you know who you are... ;))

I was 15 when I built my first computer :) Specs were

AMD Sempron 2800+ S754
768Mbytes of RAM
80GB HDD
Windows XP Home
GeForce MX440 PCI 128MB graphics

back in 2005 :)

1.25Gb ram (1gb +256mb) Pc3200.

About 23.
Imsai, digital group PDP11 and a TRS-80 Z80 with 4k of memory i paid a thousand dollars for in a kit. all the parts had to be soldered on all the boards. i think i spelled the imsai right. think that was a 8080 processor. long time ago.

Pretty sure I was 13, turning 14 that year. I remember my specs too:

MSI K9N4 SLi nForce 500
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ 2.6Ghz, later OCed to 2.7ghz (wannabe overclocker :P)
2GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800MHz
8500GT 256MB GDDR2
80GB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM SATA (still have it too...)
Raidmax 420W PSU (21W 12V Rail)
Raidmax Scorpio (Black)

Cost me like $360 bucks, and then later I added a wireless card. A Rosewill POFS. I even remeber why I added it later, cause my dad said I wasn't allowed to spend 1 penny more than I got for the laptop I sold lol...

my first "build" was more of a take apart to have a look and clean, put back together when I was 12

My first full build though was 13.

I'm too lazy to actually figure out my age (14 or 15) but I started building with BBSK's assistance at the date of my joining the forum! :D Thanks BBSK, you've started a river out of my wallet ;) .

20....I'm actually still building it. All I lack is the CPU, Mobo, and RAM to get it functional. Still need more RAM and a better GPU later on though.

The first card I had was a 32mb ATi Rage 128 Pro. I've still got it, but I doubt it still workss, my sister managed to spill wine over it a few months back

Damn, I cannot believe some of you built your first when you were 14! I was busy trying to find out what sex was like and what weed was like...

Does it count if you bought all the bits and never got around to doing it,if it
