So I have pretty much all the hardware upgrades I want to do but I am still using the onboard Audio. I would like to add an Audio Card that takes full advantage of my 5.1 surround sound. My budget for this card is going to be around $80, give or take a few dollars. What are your all recommendations?

And I will recommend the Asus Xonar. I have the D1 and its great. Huge differences from onboard audio.
^^^ agree. The DX or D1. Anything cheaper, you might as well use the onboard.

If you play lots of games with EAX, you might want a Creative card for that. OpenAL is good for restoring hardware audio to most games that supported it on windows xp. The xonar cards are really good in general as well, with some cards you can even change the op amps for better sound quality.

Anything other than onboard audio is already a higher step up.
Ok, yes, but I wouldn't see the point in spending $30 on a low-end sound card. Won't be that much different, especially if you don't have decent speakers/headphones.

That's true. I wouldn't recommend $30 sound cards either. Better to put in $30 more and get a decent card.
