What is the best cheap brand of dvdrs I have been buying Philips but the price of 100 packs have gone up $3 to $4 in the last 6 months. Just wondering if there is a good cheaper alternative??

Don't get cheap. Get good. You'll thank yourself in a few years because you won't start losing data.
That said, for DVD-R, I only buy Memorex.
