What am I missing?

I just bought a new Sony handycam and I'm looking to upgrade the batt and the memory stick. MSX-1G is the max I can get. Now looking through the internet i've found prices as low as $75 to as much as $400. What's going on with this?
 
some used, some refurbished maybe, might also depend on the accessories included, or maybe different models, years.
 
but for a price difference of that much? something doesn't seem right. I do know each that I've looked at was brand new.
 
Price differences are possibly that way because you can use SanDisk memory sticks as well as the Sony branded, and the SanDisks tend to be cheaper.
 
i cant see a difference between the two. give the person selling the expensive one, the link to the cheaper one, and ask him why his prices are alot higher for the same product, and see what he has to say.
