Westell DSL Modems

I'm having terrible trouble with my Westell DSL modem, it looses connection and regains it over and over and over and over and over again. I've replaced it and the new one has begun to do the same thing. (same model as the first, all verizon would give me) Has anyone else had trouble with westell modems?
 
First off, i've called verizon tech support many different times and they can't really help me. Second it's a wireless router/modem, and third it looses the dsl connection, as in the little dsl light starts blinking and if you look at the status of the modem by putting in 192.168.1.1 in your browser window it says No DSL Connection
 
I would say it is more likely the ROUTER... Try hooking the modem directly to the computer, see if it times out after the same amount of time... If it doesnt, it is probably the router overheating.
 
well it's a router and a modem all in one, sorry i wasn't more clear but finally after 3 days of fighting with the tech support they think it's the link not the modem.
 
ok now they say there is nothing wrong with my connection but it's still doing it, i think it's the modem, any ideas on how to test it to see if it really is junk
 
Oh yea Ive have friends that have problems to. One Personscomputer i fix for her DSL Modem + Wifi router forgot her logon and password. And Me and Kusamas Friends Wireless/DSL modem combo from verizon the wireless doesnt even work. Those things are a pain. Just get the Westell 6100 which i havent had a problem with since september(not 1!!!)
 
well it seems that the issue may have been on verizon's end even though origonally they claimed that there was no problem with the line and acted like i'm was crazy to think there was, as of now i'm running a test to see if the line disconnectes over a period of a few hours, and no i didn't try buying a new modem, i don't want to buy a new one unless thats actually the problem seeing as how they're like 30-40 bucks more than a regular wireless g router.
