so i am currently using a 5.1 surround sound logitech x530. b4 i changed my motherboard (needed to rma it) it would play out of the main left and right speakers. now after i had reinstalled a fresh motherboard, but the same make and model, my sound is only comin out of my main left and i believe my right rear. sound doesnt come out of my main right which has the volume controls etc.

i reinstalled the sound drivers and everything ( i am using onboard surround sound support)
and i also tried playing around with the nvidia NVMixer, which is the sound control program. no luck

does anyone kno how i can .. i guess... rearrange my sound so it comes out of the right speakers?

Does the NVmixer have a speaker calibration wizard? On a Creative Labs card like the Audigy 4 Pro used here you first have to calibrate the speakers and adjust various settings before expecting the speakers to be configured correctly. Refer to the setup instructions or help files for this.

nope, not that i kno of. i checked out the speaker wizard a couple times but nothing. it only test out your speakers to see if you have 5.1 or w/e type of sound system and lets you customize the sound kind of. nothing reli about rearranging sound from the speakers.

sound is only comin from my left and right rear speakers. =\
anyone knoe of a way?

If your speakers are all good you may have a bad jack on the board itself. You have already tried reinstalling the software side of it. Have you tried switching rhe jacks with the rear pair to see if any sound comes out of the rear right then?

yea i've tried that. i also went on nvidia's website to do a little searching and found this Q and A:
http://nvidia.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/...SZwX3NlYXJjaF90ZXh0PXNvdW5k&p_li=&p_topview=1

i followed those instructions and did that, but that program doesnt reli let u switch around the sound comin from each speaker. instead, it just plays white noise to let you see if each one of the speakers are working.

once i run that little app though, my speaker with the main controls has no sound going out of it. weird. is there any other way to tweak around?

When you are not hearing anything from the front speakers are you hearing sound from the rest of them? There should be an option to switch from surround sound to 2 1/2 or just stereo with the software. If you downloaded the wrong updates that go for a different board that could explain much.

yea i updated the software to 4.62 and tweaked around with winamps plugins and now i got sound comin out of all speakers except for the right one which is the one with the controls. i guess that isnt bad? better than before where sound only came out of 2. but i also found this forum specifically for nvidia chipsets. so im tryin to get some more help from them. but problem is better than b4. thats good. :D

You could have a bad connection or speaker gone in there after this amount of time if you haven't sound at all for some time. The one thing I don't care for on that model is the lack of any speaker balance controls. Those come in handy for troubleshooting to see if a speaker went on you. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowI...=Logitech+X-530+70+Watts+5.1+Speaker+-+Retail

I'm glad I grabbed he Logitech Z-640s at a pc show when looking for a better set of speakers some time back for this reason.
