Weird: sound only coming from one speaker

My sound is only coming from one speaker, all the balances are set too 100 for l/r and all the other componets I have attached (like subwoofer etc.)

Also, when I plug in a headset the same happens.

Can anyone help?

(sorry if this is the wrong section to post in, it was the closest I could find to what I wanted to ask).

Plug the headphone in where, straight to the soundcard or through your speaker system?

I have a bit where I can control the sound volume I plugged it in there, I'll try out the soundcard now.

Gah, now I've unplugged it and plugged back in I get no sound "/

The sound is now sorted, thank you for your help. The male connection was not funny in the female connect on the back of my sound card. This topic can now be closed.
