Webcam not connecting

Got a new Logitech Quickcam Communicate MP and I'm having trouble getting it to work. I install software and when it tells me to plug it in I do and vista comes back with an error and I have no connection to the camera. The built in mic works fine and this is the second camera I had the same problem with. Can someone help me out?

Is the camera Vista Compatable? I tried to install a Logitech web camera (about three years old) on my moms machine with vista on it and windows message popped up stating that this device is not supported, then I "clicked here" to trouble shoot and went to the logitech website and they stated that the camera drivers and software would not be updated! had to get her a new one!!
