Web Browsers Don't work on Toshiba laptop

I have a Toshiba Satellite C650 and I am able to connect it to the internet via ethernet cable (Windows 7 can see the other computers on the network, and the icon in the system tray says "Internet Access", MSN also works). Chrome, IE, and Firefox cannot load webpages. Chrome will tell me "No data received. Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data." IE shows "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" and Firefox just shows a blank screen. Any help appreciated.

Are you using DHCP or manually configuring IP addresses for your network? First thing to do is disable proxies is IE/Firefox/Chrome, then check your firewalls, etc.

There is malware out there that likes to change the proxy server setting. Go to Start->Control Panel->Network and Internet->Internet Options. Then, on the Internet Properties dialog, click on the Connections tab, then the LAN settings button. Make sure the checkbox for "Use a proxy server for your LAN" is NOT checked.

This was the first thing I looked at and the checkbox is unchecked. How do I tell if I'm using DHCP or manually configuring IP addresses for my network? As far as I know all the computers on my network use a static IP address, but I could be wrong.
I checked the firewall and Chrome/IE/Firefox are not blocked. The browsers work in safe mode.

*Edit, problem fixed, I removed Rogers Online Protection and Rogers Service Point Agent and the browsers worked ^.^
I don't know why some people install that software on there computers, from what I've read it's not that great and I've only had problems with it.
