Was your opinion on the HP Chromebook 11 G9 Chromebook

Sounds like you have one from your school. You do realize its their property and they can do whatever they want? No one is gonna help you bypass that.
 
IIRC Chromebooks were designed to break after about 5 years by design. A lot of schools complained about this because they would had to replace them a lot earlier so there would be a lot of e-waste.

But as for the machine themselves, it works well with google drive/docs/etc that the school uses so unless you are planning to do more than just basic documents / email / etc, then the machines are decent.
