Warcraft- Is Online gaming with Router not possible?

I only ask because my roommate can only play World of Warcraft for a few minutes before it logs him off when we're connected to a Linksys router. Is there something wrong or does a Linksys not support online gaming?
 
it might be something wrong with either the internet provider, the computer, the router, or the modem.
when i say router i mean that it could be loosing connection to the computer becuase the signal is not strong enough, not that the router doesnt support online gaming b/c online is being online wether playing or surfing.

is it only happening to to his comp? does he have good signal? has this been going on in the past or just started? have you tried restarting the router and modem? also does it loose connection then connects back right after or it just loosing connection and you have to wait a long time till it comes back?

i kno its a lot of questions but we need more info..
 
i would try port fowarding maybe... by doin this..

find out wich ports and rather its tcp or udp WoW are using...

then in ur I.e browser type 192.168.1.1 then should ask u for user name and passy

should be admin,admin if it isnt reset your router by holding the reset button for 30 seconds, then power off for 10 seconds

now once your in their go to advanced tab then fowarding...

once your their its pretty self explanetory, just enter the ports that it uses ( note that their will be 2 boxes for port -to- port... just enter the same port number each box thats across from eachother) then select rather its tcp or udp or both.

also set this up in ur Service pack 2 firewall settings if you have this

Well we just started using a router and it's just on his computer when he plays Warcraft. We get the internet just fine, we just can't play online. We have an excellent signal. We've tried restarting the router and resetting it. We never really lose connection from the server, he just can't seem to play.
