not many people at all have been having issues with fallout3. i'd say it is one of the most stable games i've played in recent years. don't discourage someone from buying a great game because you are having personal issues with it, IMO
 
I played it for at least five hours and I'm pretty sure I never had a crash. Settings almost maxed. The only issue I had was once when I hooked it up to my HDTV, the framerate dropped to under 5, but it worked fine when I restarted the game. No idea what caused it.
 
I have it at 1680x1050 and it's all maxed out, and it's only crashed once on me (i was using alt+tab to switch to music and other stuff, and it was more of a "i have forty processes running" freeze")
 
I agree I never had any crashes or any bugs at all....reason I bought it. One of the few games that can be played upon release.

most people with fallout 3 crashing downloaded it illegally through a torrent. usually by skullptura or Reloaded. other then that, the game hardly ever crashes. it is as stable as Oblivion, which is pretty good. The skullptura torrent in particular requires a special fix on installation to stop the crashes, and if its not installed you'll get the crashes every few seconds like you say.



dont ask. i bought the game on steam.
