i live in the dorms and we have vpn here where u can connect to the college's network i guess...i just bought a new computer and downloaded teh vpn client..cisco i think..and tried to connect to the vpn it wont even pop up the screen where i put my username n pass in...it will just say not connected...i can surf the net fine...my internet connection is fine...but i need the vpn if i need to download stuff at fast speeds like 2-3 megabytes per second..i went to control panel and network connections it has three thigns in it..first one says 1394 connections...second one says LAN realtek family something..the third one says LAN cisco vpn client adapter o rsomething...the 1394 doesnt give an ip adress neither does the cisco one..only the realtek seems to be wroking...but any idea how i can connect to the vpn? do i need drivers or something..btw it did work once...but not since then...the only thing different i did is install an additional hard drive

the 1394 doesnt give an ip adress
IEEE-1394 is a firewire connectin, kinda like an updated USB so i wouldnt xpect that to have an IP address on it..

The only thing i can think of sugesting is to check with your colleges network staff, to see if they changed nything, is this all legit, are you actually meant to be connecting to it???
