i have tried fastpush and another VNC installer to try to install VNC on a computer in my network. I have XP Pro on this machine. I want to install VNC on a XP home computer. i keep geting erros like cannot find/acces remote host. i have tried this with exiting firewall and setting the computers IP's to truested. please help me install vnc. this is making me very frustrated. i tried searching this site but searching was not working.

Xp home doesnt have the network support PRO does... It seems your running into that problem.

try logmein.com free edition. works for me

well i guess i could try that. i was thinking more along the lines of a program to run within my network and not use some other network.

i personally do not like logmein i would download realvnc it is just a little server that you run on the computer and just use the client to connect to the computer. i run realvnc on just about every computer on my network.

so i install realvnc on the computer i want to remote access. then use the view to see it? i was trying to use remote install programs but they didnot work.

when your installing the program choose just the server for the server computer then on the computer that you want to use to connect to the computer run the install and just choose the client after you install then run the client and you can either type in the computers network name or the ip of the computer and put in the password that you choose on the server computer and it should all be working fine
