How much of a difference is a MSI HD 3850? I have a friend wanting to buy mine for $45 as well

Should be a noticeable difference, maybe 5 to 20 FPS in most games depending on which ones you play. Not bad for a free upgrade LOL.

I also wanted to say this card is factory overclocked as well. Stock clocks for 3870's are 775/1125. This one has 800/1170. However, max core clock is the CCC is 840 which as you can see it does (not sure why GPUz is only registering 837) but it won't allow me to overclock the memory at all. That doesn't give much if any gains anyway.

Also, I've replaced the stock thermal compound with arctic silver. With the fan at 55%, I never saw more than 68c.

I must have remembered wrong. Just got done playing some COD WAW and it never went below 80 FPS while playing.

I think I remember when I was trying to add Antialiasing that it went down to 50 FPS.

How's the performance of this card? I may get it and use it in my old rig when I build my new one and pull my 4870.
