Virtual Memory

On my computer (piece of crap) i was looking around and i found that i can increase my virtual memory. Now my computer has bugger all ram (256mb) and i was thinking, maybe i could increase my virtual memory.

Virtual memory is when part of the hard drive gets used as ram right?
and if i do increase my virtual memory are their any risks involved?

currently it is at:
Intial:384
Maximum:768

should i increase?

Yes Virtual memory is the part of the Hard Drive.

Yes you can increase. No harm should be done

You should increase to at least 1024mb (1 gb) on your system. downside is more disk activity that sometimes slows things down a bit, like when installing stuff.
