Recently i've been having issues with what i believe is my video card. The only cable going to the monitor is the DVI from my 9800 GX2, and i can see and do just about anything besides run video games, i guess anything that requires direct x? Anyways, under the device manager, both cores have the yellow triangle reporting an error, and the code that it's reporting is Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
The card seemed to work fine after I reformatted my computer and installed windows 7, but after i rebooted, i couldn't access NVidia control panel, and the code 43 popped up. I tryed 4 different drivers, the oldest, the newest beta, and nothing fixed it. So I figured it was just incompatible with windows 7.
So i reformatted it again, and installed vista again; once again the computer worked fine until i rebooted it. And then the code 43 came back up, and i started experiencing the same problems.
Could there be anything besides the card itself thats broken? perhaps the motherboard?
I've been running the same setup since 2007
CPU - q6700
motherboard - asus striker extreme
4gigs of ram
video card - 9800gx2
