Video card can't overclock?

Just a few days ago, i was able to overclock my computer, but recently after i reformat, i can't overclock. i'm using "xtremetuner hd" to overclock a galaxy gtx 460 768mb and whenever i crank it up just by a tiny bit, my screen would go black, restore, and say "display driver stopped responding and has recovered." does anyone ever ran into this problem? if so, please help me fix it.

I believed so. I tried both display driver from the disk and display driver from the website (I believed it was the latest) and it still doesn't work.

Could be a driver conflict. Uninstall the display driver and then run CCleaner to remove any temporary remains.

Actually, i tried to crank it up VERY little by little and once it hit a certain point, it'll give me that message. could it be the PSU? I mean it's only 500 watts and the graphic card itself alreaday sucked up 450 watts.

Probably, yeah

A GTX460 does not use 450W.

What power supply are you running. A 500W PSU is not the same as the next 500W PSU, there are some exceptional units and there are some truly awful ones, Manufacturer/model of the unit would be enough information
