Is it possible to use a 802.11b USB wifi adaptor as a network hotspot? And if it's possible, can someone please tell me how to do it?

Thankx :)

what will this hotspot do? You can create an ad-hoc network, but thats only from your pc to another.

it may be possible, some wifi adaptors come with software to make it into an "access point", what model adaptor is it, but with it being 802.11b it would be pretty slow

Lee :)

yeah i want to make it ad-hoc, its a cheapo corega adaptor off ebay (~$10), when i try to load the drivers for it it says something like "this operating system cannot handle this" or something similar, when i try to use windows and bridge the connection to my lan, it always says not connected, it must think im trying to connect to an infastructure network oh and by the way my os is media center edition 05, i tried it on my other xp computer and my server 2003 pc error and i get the same os error

thanks guys
