I have a X-Fi extreme music sound card but i have an 500 DSP headset. Both are expensive but they dont work together because the headset has a USB connection. Is there a device i can buy that i can plug the USB connection of the headset on one end and the other end goes into the sound card so i can use both great items?

Thanks.

possibly... you can do it with optical mice so i do see why you can't do it with a Usb head set. Try shopping around a bit.(i don't know what they're called)

I'm not sure why you think you'd find a benefit in converting a digital signal back into an analog one only for it to be converted to a digital signal again when it hits the sound card. Are you wanting the X-Fi to do some real-time processing on the sound as it comes in?

What kind of budget are you looking at? Because for headphones you can spend anywhere from $20 to $500 and up.

I agree with beyond, it may be worth upping your budget just to get those. Otherwise, you're looking at something along the lines of this pair, and just compare the difference in terms of frequency response, driver unit size, etc. If you really want to do your X-Fi justice, then something like the A500 would blow you away.
