USB headset cancelling speakers

I just bought a CA mono headset, as I usually leave my speakers on and only use the mic. Problem is, its cutting my speakers off. Is there any way to change this AND is there a way to adjust the mic volume as my sound blaster audigy mixer panel doesnt have a slider for it.

Appologies, I didnt tell you it was USB headset. When I plug the USB in it kills the speakers. I was tired when I posted.

Its a Cyber Acoustics USB Mono headset. Running speakers on a Sounblaster Audigy card.

I went and firring bought a good old standard 1/8" connection type. Problem solved. Don't ever buy USB headsets.

All audio settings for all audio devices are, strangely enough, in the "Sounds and Audio Devices" section of Control Panel... I use a USB headset everyday for the exact same purpose you do, i only use the mic from it, i use my normal speakers for output.
