USB 2.0 vs. 1.1 for a webcam...

Good morning all. I recently bought a Logitech QUickCam Communicate STX to keep in touch with some relatives in the midwest. This cam utilizes usb2.0 but I have yet to grab a 2.0 pci card, havent really needed to. But I am noticing the video is rather choppy when transmitting. If I upgrade to 2.0, will it be a noticeable difference in streaming?

Yes, you most likely will. USB 1.1 is much slower than 2.0. But also keep in mind that it is a webcam, it is not ever going to be good quality.

Most webcams run at 320x240, correct? USB1.1 can handle this resolution just fine. Personally, I don't think you'd notice too much of a difference, especially with a webcam. Realize the video is to stream over the internet, so it's not going to be perfect.

Same as The_Other_One says, USB 1.1 can handle up to 12Mbits/second which is more than enough for running your webcam.
