update won't work w/any of my programs ie: norton security, antispyware, maleware,etc

When I try to update any program I get a message that says "make sure firewall is not blocking (name of program) from accessing the internet. This occurs even after shutting off all the firewalls and security systems of windows and/or norton. Any suggestions on what is wrong?
 
Can you browse the internet? If so then most likely you are infected and need to download combofix and run it on your system.

Download and Run ComboFix
If you already have Combofix, please delete this copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

In your next reply please post:
  • The ComboFix log
  • A fresh HiJackThis log
  • An update on how your computer is running
 
When I try to download combofix I get error message: You cannot rename Combofix as combofix [1] then i click OK & nothing happens
 
If you already have a copy of combofix on your desktop, please delete it and redownload the file to your desktop and then run it.
 
I can't get rid of the: combofix [1] I keep deleting it and send to recycle bin and removing but it keeps showing up even after restarting the computer. the only way I can find combofix files is by doing a search.
 
Do you have a usb flash drive? Try downloading the file from a different computer onto the flash drive and then run it on your computer from there.
