ok well i found a netgear router (wired) and I tried to hook it up with my internet..(comcast cable)..
and it does not work...

If you have this router plz help...

BtW I contacted the customer service thing ..they said that Its to Old and my warranty is over :(

well you need to login and set it up.. what is the model of this netgear router? you can try loggin in with this http://192.168.2.1 (copy, paste that into a web browser when the router is on, and the pc is hooked up to it.
 
your probably entering the pppoe information incorrectly.. if you use your [email protected] and a pw.. try useing just the username andm password, and leave the domain off.. I had this problm once.

pppoe is only for DSL/dialup services...

If it's a cable connection, there should be an option like "DYNAMIC IP ADDRESS - Choose this option to obtain an IP address automatically from your ISP."
