UAA help

Well I just reformatted my computer, and I can not get UAA to install. I have tried all the hotfixes that windows has given me. When I install the hotfix it does sucessfully however when looking for it on the PC the device manager can not sucessfully update it. If anyone knows whats going please help.

Windows XP Pro SP2
Compaq SRX1820WX

Thanks john I gave that a shot but it did the same exact thing I am going to try installing the realtek drivers but doubt I will have any resolve. Would purchasing a new sound card fix my issue?

I'm just curious, that model number you posted don't get any hits and its not listed as a model number at HP's website. Are you sure thats the correct model number? Updating to SP3 may help.

Ah sorry its SR1820NX, ill go ahead and give updating to sp3 a shot.

You might have damaged the audio chip when moving the board back and forth. If it won't work, then get a dedicated pci soundcard and install it. Check the bios first to make sure hd audio is enabled.
