tv speakers question

Hi all,

I just got a new video card that has some on board sound capabilities. The card has a mini hdmi out that i have connected to my lcd tv. What I am trying to do is get my existing computer speakers (a simple 2.1 system plugged right into the motherboard) to work at the same time as the speakers on my tv. I currently can only get one to work at a time. Is this possible? I am not fabulous with computers so if you have some advice please be as explicit as possible. Thanks!
 
What do you mean at the same time? Do you mean you want the speakers to play both sound from the computer AND the TV? If so, you'll need to get an RCA to 3.5mm adapter (running from the TV to the speaker), and a 3.5mm stereo splitter (if the speakers have only one set of inputs).
 
no i meant i want the sounds my computer produces (like from a video i am watching) to play from both my tv's and computer's speakers. Right now I can only get them to play one at a time.
