Turning wireless.....

Hi all,

Just wondering really.....

I've got an external cable modem, that plugs into my comp (a laptop) via USB. I'd like to use the internet anywhere in the house, rather than having to be physically situated in the pokey little room where my cable comes in, and cable modem is situated.

Is there a bit of kit that I could plug the USB plug from the modem into and a dongle for my computer to turn it wireless? I know I could basically make a wireless network in the house, but thats going a bit extreme. All I want is to make the single connection between my laptop and cable modem wireless, rather than a physical plug - ie ie some sort of transmitter/receiver instead of a physical plug. Any suggestions?

Cheers!

Why would the 108M be cheaper than the 54M?

huh?

the first link is a kit. includes a router and a pcmcia card.
$92.49 for 54Mbps

To get 108Mbps: $76.99 (router) + $59.99 (pcmcia card) = $136.92
