So i bought this laptop that had a whole bunch of programs preloaded on it and i got tired of having some of them there so i deleted some of them. Well, i think that one of the programs made the sound work because after i deleted it i got no sound and i didnt have the speaker icon in the bottem right corner. I cant do anything, i cant even ajust the volume because there is no loonger a place to allow me to. Can someone help me out and tell me what is wrong, or how too fix it? thx oodles.:o

After going through the toshiba support on their site, selecting Tecra and then 8100 it came up with these sound drivers. I dont know what operating system your running so i couldnt give you a specific download. But have a look here and pick the one you need. It doesnt have an xp driver, so if your using that, then i would try 2000

i downloaded one of those files (granted it might not have been the right one) and when i try to play one of my CDs it says "Cannot play back audio stream; audio hardware is not available, or audio hardware is not responing" Did i download the wrong file or is it a completely different problem?

The files that i linked to were for sound drivers. This, to me, seems the problem. Try downloading and running one of the others. Are you running Windows XP by the way?
