transfr connection to router, fast please!!

just bought myself a new dlink router and i want to tranfer the conncetion (VPN) in to the router so i can have the computer off and surf with my laptop wirelessly. how do i do that? i was told it is done by transfering through the browser or something but i didnt understand that... can you please tell me how to do that?

there should be instructions with the router. You have to do it in the right order, you can't just plug everything in and expect it to do its job correctly. If nothing else, contact your ISP, they should help you out. Some ISP's (Earthlink for example, at least at my parent's house) purposely track MAC's so they can try to charge you more for a network, so if you install the router correctly and you can't get a connection, that could also be a culprit
