Transfering Over Wireless

I recently bought a 300 gigabite hard drive to store all my movies, music, and other files. I installed it on my sisters computer as I have no spots left for the pci card it needs to run. Now here's the tricky part, I can transfer files to her pc fine over our SBC 2Wire Network, but as soon as her screen saver turns on, the transfer will freeze. Why is it doing this? The hard drive, and everything else are still awake, the monitor is simply asleep. This makes no sense to me seeing as how I can download stuff on my pc with the screen saver on. I don't want to leave that monitor on all day either. Any ideas? And yes the wireless card is set to NEVER hibernate or sleep. I've checked all these things. The guys at the local computer shop say that oddities like this can just happen, but I don't want to believe it. Something has to be causing it, and there has to be a cure. Any ideas guys???

so basically, your screen saver is freezing your transfer, you don't want to disable the screen saver... Don't know why it's happening, but i suppose you could just turn the monitor off when doing long downloads as a workaround until someone figures out the root of the problem.

PS your not running the netbuei (did i spell that right?) protocol???

I'm not sure if I'm running the netbeui protocol or not. I know it's wireless 802.11b, and that's all. I'm not even sure if that would be the problem seeing as how it works fine with the screen saver off. I'd just rather fix it than let it go unsolved.

I'll try your suggestion.
