Transfer Files

New Member
Hello I have two computers in my house, and they're both connected to my linksys router. Now how do I send one file to the other computer, like what programs do I need or can I just use windows XP?

BTW Both computers have XP running.

Well, you can do it via email...and there is something for XP called "file transfer wizard" which I think can do what you need it to do via LAN connection. I never used it but I believe that's what it said it can do...
 
If you have manually configured your TCP/IP settings identical with the exception of the ip addresses, they should be able to see eachother if they are both able to network and on the same workgroup. To check if they are able, check in the network options in control panel and for the workgroup, check on the properties in "My Computer." Right click on it and click Properties.
