Toshiba OR HP?

Hello,

I want to buy a laptop. I personally like HP but some of my friends told me that Toshiba is better. Now I don't know for which one to go.

I need your help, as you guys are experts at computers. Which one would you recommend and why?

HP, good products and AMAZING customer support. pretty much anything but gateway, acer, emachines, and compaq. ASUS is also another good laptop brand
 
I just purchased an HP laptop yesterday after 3 ASUS and 2 Toshibas.

All 3 companies have pros and cons and I ended up with my new HP because of price and features compared to the competitors this time around!!

Do your research and compare feature and pick one based on what machine will best serve you as the consumer!

As I say, HP won me over this time!!

Ok, if I want to go with HP, I will get this laptop.

HP G60-519wm
Laptop computer
3GB memory; 250GB hard drive
Having windows 7
15.6 HD display and intel celeron


I use it just for internet forums, watching movies etc. Do you guyz think this is a good and fast (not of very slow speed)laptop for me?

I can get a laptop up from $350 - $450. You can recommend a good laptop if this is not a very good one. I don't know much about computers.

Do you have a link? Is it the 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7? What is the cpu? You'll want a dual core and if it is 64-bit I say get 4 gigs of memory if you can.

My daughter has a 3 year old Compaq with 32-bit Vista, 2 gigs of RAM and a dual core cpu at 1.6 MHz and she has no problems at all watching DVDs, surfing the 'net and online research, AIM, as well as school work involving papers, power point, etc.

If she can do that on her 3 year old, not state of the art system, and you aren't gaming and all you want to do is watch movies, surf the net, and do homework, papers, etc. you are more than fine.

My vote is with HP.

No, I don't have the link because it is in the ad in weekly ad of the store. So, you think this is fine for me. Right now I have Compaq Vista with 512MB which is very slow. I just don't want that slow computer, that's why getting 3 GB so it can be a bit faster.

What cpu is good? Can you tell me for which cpu should I go? I thought that intel celeron was the processor?
