dont get the diamond it doesnt have a DSP
if you could spend a little more go for the Audigy 4 or Audgigy2 ZS (the audigy4 being better tho)

I would go for the diamond. Save $20, It also has better reviews than the creative sb.

go for it, it'll be years before you need an upgrade, and when you get a new computer you can just throw that in there and you'll still have amazing flawless audio... with great drivers.
haha soundblaster is definitely the way to go, if buying a sound card though. they know how to produce a quality sound card for whatever amount of money you pay for it.

why go for that when i specifically said that it had no DSP, meaning it wont aid in gaming
get like the Creative Audigy 4 or 2 ZS or if you can teh X-Fi Xtreme Music
I dunno. I've always had reasonably good luck with Creative. The last Diamond card I ever used was a Diamond Monster Fusion (remember those??) I thought they had gone out of business.
I think in this case I would play it safe and stick with the Creative..

no, i just like good audio. thats actually quite a cheap card... if you ask me. its the best card you can get for the money at least, supports all types of technologies, and the company is the absolute best. im not a car salesman, i just know a good product when i see one.
either way, if you get a card get a creative labs with an audigy (preferably 2 or 4) or an x-fi chipset. they're the best cards on the market.
i mean, going with anything else is just taking a chance. like the time i bought a cheap $20 wireless keyboard that came with a wireless mouse. the brand was rosewill... needless to say the mouse was jumpy and the keyboard had like a 2 second reaction time. shopping by brand is just something you need to do with some parts... like a keyboard and mouse - Logitech.
