To GOOGLE Or Not To GOOGLE?

HP 2000-299WM Notebook PC, Windows 7 Home Premium

Until just recently I would use GOOGLE to DL my search pictures. For instance, if I were looking for a FRAM oil filter pic I would go to GOOGLE, title it "FRAM oil filter", press enter, then select images. I would then left click the pic, select "Save image as....", save the pic to my library, then go to it when needed. Now, I left click the picture, but nothing happens. I have to right click the picture and select "Open" which only leads to a blank black screen. Has Google changed something to where you can't DL images or is there a setting on my PC that needs to be be updated........??????

You should never right click on the image to save it from the search page, as those are low resolution thumbnails. You should click on the picture, then click on "view image", then save it.

I know on my phone i have to go to the website the picture is located on to see ir i can download it or not, but on mobile some pictures you can save some you cant. Havent tried on desktop but i bet something has changed as its becoming more common to not be able to directly save images on the web.

I don't quite understand what you are talking about.

This is what he means.

That's how Google Images appear for me. They've been doing that since Google did an engine update over a year ago.

That is a screen shot.

You need to capture a screenshot of what that google image page in your browser looks like and attach it to a new post. When I click on that link, I get the updated version of google images, which is probably what the rest of us will see.

No it's not. It's just a link to the Google Image search you performed.

That's what I see also. Then I select a picture and it expands the picture. I get the black background behind it and can select to view the source page or view the image.

Go to google.com

Search for a picture

You see a bunch of photos on a white background, but now click on a picture, you should see what looks just like the screenshot we posted earlier shows, a dark gray page with the image and a "view image" button.

I have admitted that I am somewhat computer illiterate in other posts. And, I currently have no clue as to what you want. This is a screen shot of my PC screen I took with my camera of what Google images look like when I look them up. Laugh if you want, but it's the best I can do to understand what you are talking about.

That's perfectly fine, now what happens when you click on an image? Can you take a picture of that and post that here as well?

Is that AOL I see? ;)

If you take a picture of the screen with the issue then it might more highlight the behavior for us.

Ya know I never thought of that. It might be because he's using an outdated browser.

Before, I could left click the image, go to "Save image as....", and it would be saved in my PC pic library for future use.
