Is there any low cost way to recover stored data on a thumb drive that will not boot? I have a large storage thumb drive that I stored a large amount of data and pictures on over 2-3 years now it will not energize or boot. Is there a way to recover the data!!!!
 
You'll need to send it to a professional data recovery company and that won't be cheap. Usb flash drives really isn't a place to store important files that you need to keep as anyhing can happen to them and not be able to be read anymore. You will want to use multi places for important files like CD/DVD, cloud storage, even on an SSD in yor pc. I would never store important files on a flash drive. They go bad way too often.
